A Hasidic story tells of a rabbi’s son who used to wander in the woods. The rabbi asked his son, “I wonder why each day you walk in the woods?” The boy replied, “I go there to find God.” “That’s very good, son. But, don’t you know that God is the same everywhere?” “Yes,” the boy answered, “but I’m not.” [caption id="attachment_430" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Where is your 'thin place'?"]Where is your 'thin place'?[/caption] I like that, and it reminds me of something my friend from Wales shared, he wrote:

“The Celts believed that heaven and earth were only three feet apart; they also had a belief in “Thin Places”, places where the distance was even closer. Places which were awash with the presence of God. Places which intensified and overwhelmed with an awareness of the glory and presence of God.”
I think these two ideas go hand in hand just beautifully and I hope you have a “thin place” where you can go when you need to find God. [Source: Bramble Trails – Thank you Rachel!]]]>
