May we behold Jesus our king this Christmas

Behold Your King: A Christmas Greeting

By Jason Fowler on 12/24/2011

Let us remember that GOD’s purposes can be birthed in us as we too go low, go small, and labor as He leads us – we need only to be willing vessels. Peace to you this Christmas from our family to yours…

Will we perceive Jesus' presence in the craziness of Christmas?

Missing Christ: Confessions of a Christmas Shopper

By Jason Fowler on 12/22/2011

For a split second, time and space froze. What if that word – ‘Christ’ – what if the Word became flesh right there in the store – what if he showed up at cash register number #17?…

GOD's answer to all that is broken was the Incarnation...

A Tea Party, An Occupation and People of the Incarnation

By Jason Fowler on 12/07/2011

Maybe the answer is not a tea party or an occupation or any protest movement after all. I believe we must give ourselves, as disciples of Jesus, to another movement – to His living Body – a people who are again re-incarnating a kingdom not of this world…

Exploring Advent and Christmas: Resources

By Jason Fowler on 12/03/2011

I want to share a few blogs, websites and other resources from around the Web that are seeking to explore more meaningful expressions of Christian celebration and reflection in this season…

Sustainable Traditions 2010 Christmas Greeting

Sustainable Traditions 2010 Christmas Greeting

By Jason Fowler on 12/23/2010

To the humble a door opens. We stoop to enter in, we leave our selves at the threshold, we clothe ourselves in Him. In weakness He overturns the strong, in foolishness He shames the wise. Be born anew in the barnyard of our lives…

Will you pray with us for Elias?

No Ordinary Child

By Jason Fowler on 12/23/2010

This Christmas I am deeply considering how our story- and more specifically the story of my newborn son- is intertwined with GOD’s story- the GOD who was incarnated in the frail frame of a baby- much like my son…

This Xmas/Advent will we let the incarnation transform us? (montage: J Fowler)

Birth of the Rebel Jesus

By Jason Fowler on 12/12/2010

Let us listen to those who challenge our collective imagination, like Jackson Browne who sings of the ‘Rebel Jesus’ and reminds us that if we are to believe in and celebrate GOD’s incarnation we must also live in-step with the ‘upside-down’ kingdom of the King who became a servant to us all…

Does anyone know the true meaning of Christmas?

The Holy Fools of Christmas (feat. Mr. Bean, Rev Billy & Linus)

By Jason Fowler on 12/11/2010

I decided instead to enjoy things a bit and have laugh- to let a few ‘holy fools’ encourage us to cast off all that hinders us from loving each other and remembering that Christmas is all about remembering the incarnation-and ‘re-incarnating’ Jesus to those around us…(Featuring Mr. Bean, Rev Billy and Linus)

If we want to redeem Christmas, we must redeem Advent (montage: JF)

To Redeem Christmas We Must Redeem Advent

By Tom Fuerst on 12/05/2010

If we want to redeem Christmas, we must redeem Advent. And it cannot be one or two of us, it must be a community that together decides that waiting, repenting, expecting, mourning, and longing for more is better than all the promises of Black Friday and Christmas morning…

What (or who) are we worshipping this Christmas?

Reclaiming Christmas

By Bill Guerrant on 11/17/2009

Isn’t our culture’s commercialization of such a holy event every bit as profane as selling doves and changing money in the courtyards of the temple? I wonder what would happen if Jesus walked into an American mall…with songs proclaiming his birth being piped in to induce purchases.
