We would listen to his sermon on the resurrection of Jesus and sing hymns in the cold, subtle light of early morning. Today…though I’ve begun listening to a different kind of sermon.

We are invited to a Jesus-centric spirituality- a whole-life discipleship- an all encompassing transformation that relies on the central reality of our belief- of Jesus as Lord and Messiah. But without His resurrection His lordship over our lives would be nothing more than a religious facade…

This book is wonderfully offensive…There is a bit of a gut-punch in their for all of us. And if we’re willing to leave our pseudo-piety behind we will discover that there is indeed a promised land for those of us who are willing to laugh at ourselves and strike out on a soul-searching journey towards the risen Jesus…

Like the seed that dies, that gives itself up for life to come forth, JESUS as The Seed was placed in a tomb. Buried in darkness, for three days He ‘germinated’. Ironically, when He rose from the dead Mary Magdalene thought He was the gardener.
